Peer Mediation is a valuable service that can be provided in a school setting. We consult with your school to effectively train and implement a peer mediation program. Once implemented, it is a service provided by your trained students to confidentially help solve a conflict between peers at the school. The following types of conflict can be handled with peer mediation: bullying, harassment, “he said vs. she said”, racial bashing, boyfriend/girlfriend issues, and communication issues. The students will learn that conflict is a part of daily life and is an opportunity to grow and learn. Peer mediation is more effective than suspension or detention in teaching responsible behaviors. It reduces the amount of time administrators and teachers spend on discipline issues.
